Lovebirds...

So have I mentioned I love my husband? Yeah. I love him A LOT.

For those of you who do know him, you know that taking on this kind of endeavor won't be easy for him since he is so meticulous about money. And there is no doubt that this is going to be an expensive process.

I can tell he's nervous, but he actually seems very excited. This just shows me how much he loves me because he is putting aside things that make him very uncomfortable so we can go through this process to start our family.

So in the spirit of being in puppy love...

I. LOVE. MGP.

We went to another adoption meeting today, Adoption Associates Inc. in Jenison. I like this agency a lot because they are so close, but I think we could potentially save money if we use an out-of-state agency. We need to decide soon though, so I am eagerly anticipating our discussion on what we are going to do next. I think I'll wait for Mark to process it all though. :)

P.S.

I thought of another Q&A today

Q: So why not adopt domestically? There are a lot of kids in the U.S. that need good homes.

A: I know, and it's heartbreaking. I wish I could stand before you and tell you I could take on the responsibility of taking in an older child that has been thrown around the U.S. foster care system. However, Mark and I have a dream of raising our children from infantsy to adulthood, and we want to help with the current crisis in Ethiopia. Also, American children who are still suffering through the "system" are not subjected to the same conditions that Ethiopian children are. Although there are lots of problems with the system in our country, it does function well in many cases. And even though there are problems with our program, Ethiopia doesn't have near the resources the United States has so you can imagine how terrible it is for those children who are left behind. So, Mark and I believe the International Ethiopian program makes sense for us. We understand it might not be for everyone, but it's what we've chosen to do for our family.
