That's how long we've been in this adoption process. Today, since there was a referral this afternoon, we are now number:
So, we've moved another 2 measly spots since I updated you all last month. Our caseworker told me today that she is still hopeful we will receive a referral by the fall (which would put us at home from the two trips to Ethiopia by late winter) but I'm thinking that is pretty optimistic of her based on our current number. I'm just hoping and praying our referral comes before Christmas at this point.
As I've said before, this is rough. It's annoying. Beautiful babies are everywhere right now and none of them are ours. But it's our reality. A reality that we signed ourselves up for.
I've been in such a bad place regarding this waiting lately, that I absolutely MUST make an attitude adjustment or I'm going to seriously start annoying everyone around me more-so than I already do. So, I'm taking September as a new start and a fresh outlook on this process. Tonight during my run I went down a new road built in our area and it reminded me that although it's hard to picture now, there is a fresh new addition coming to our family, and there is a light at the end of this journey, and it will be so worth it when we reach it.

Until that day, we will enjoy the last few warm days and the crisp fall air that is already beginning to make itself known. Oh, and did I mention listen this to this little boy sing for me?
Until next time...
