Yipppeee!

So, I know this blog is late, I apologize. We've been busy since THE I-171H form CAME! I still can't believe it! (For my adoption friends who are curious, it took 6 weeks and 5 days from when we filed the I-600A)

So, as promised... here it is:

What's funny about this is that it never even made it to the mailbox. It came on a Saturday and I was literally standing on the edge of our driveway waiting for the mail truck to pull up. Mark was out of town so it was just me and Lou, you should have seen how scared Lou was when I started jumping up and down with excitement because it was here.

So, I know what you are thinking... "So, what's next?" Well, as of today, the paperwork is done. (WHOOOHOOOO! Here is a photo of what a "dossier" looks like. It's basically everything about us from birth until now)

This paperwork is in the process of being sent to Ethiopia as we speak and we should be on the waiting list for our agency within a couple of weeks.

So what does "waiting" mean for us? Well, our agency says that we can expect to be on the list for about 3-9 months before they call us with a referral photo and information on our child. So, from here on out we are waiting for that phone call. I am hopeful to be on the shorter end of that time frame, but expecting not to be. Some families with our agency have been blessed with VERY short waits, so I'm just hopeful that we will be one of those families.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed for this paperwork to come, it was a great moment. We love you all and I absolutely can't wait until our little one is here!

P.S. You may wonder what I will blog about from now until we receive our referral.... well, think about it! We have a baby to plan for! I have tons of things to write about from now until then, I'm a writer for goodness sakes!
