"Hello 2 weeks, how about fast forwarding past 36 more of you?"

Hello all.

So I know there are going to be some times where I feel kinda bummed about the length of this process and this weekend has been one of those times.

Reason? Blogs. Hundreds of them, from other adoptive families, many of which have had speedy adoptions and then there are many that are not so great, because they include wait times as long as 9 months for a referral. Now granted, many of them are for little girls, so I understand those wait times are longer and if we were adopting from China it would be another 2 years tacked onto that, so I really have to room to complain, but seriously.... 9 months after dossier gets to Ethiopia? I honestly think I will go out of my mind if that happens. I don't know how the waiting list is done, I'm not sure if it's based on your agency or overall placement of paperwork in Ethiopia, but I certainy hope we don't end up waiting 9 months for a referral call.

Our agency says time from dossier submission to travel is approx. 6-12 months. I really hope they are right because I plan to get this dossier stuff together in about a month. That might seem like a lofty goal, but I tell you once our case worker calls us this week I will be on a dossier mission! (that's "doe-see-ay" for those of you wondering)

So in conclusion I leave you with this pic. This is a dog I saw on my way out of Panera Bread the other day who was waiting very patiently for his owner to return to the van. I'd like to see how he'd react if someone told him he might be waiting there for 9 months!
