After one month of waiting we went from 42 to 39 on the overall list and we are 31 in line if you take out the families requesting boys. There are also about 15 families ahead of us that are open to both genders.
Lots of people are asking me how long we have yet to wait for a referral. Well, the only way I can answer that is by saying that it all depends on how quickly this number gets down to #1. That could take 6 months (like last time) or even 16 months, I have no idea. The pace at which referrals happens is very unpredictable. It will speed up for awhile then slow down then speed back up again. I am just praying that we will be done with the adoption sometime in 2013, as I was really hoping to have our baby home by Christmas next year. When I was hanging up the stockings this year I thought about how heartbreaking it will be if we get to this point next year and still don't have her home, that would be very difficult. But, I can't think about that right now, as that's a long way off, I just have to pray for patience.
