I am hoping to find an easy way to explain and not bore everyone with this…. but we made MAJOR steps last week after we received this gloriously anticipated piece of paperwork from Pennsylvania: (I know I’m a total cheese for taking a picture of it)

Once we had the background check, 3 days later our home study was in our mailbox…. A WEEK EARLIER THAN EXPECTED! Yay! I know our social worker was pushing things along because of all the delay with the Pennsylvania situation, so I was very excited to say the least. So, despite our crazy busy weekend (which I will discuss in a moment) we managed to get our I-600A paperwork out first thing on Monday morning. (The I-600A is what we need to get our fingerprinting appointment.) Once we are fingerprinted we will be waiting for our LAST PIECE of important paperwork, the I-171H form. (Could take 2-6 weeks to come in after fingerprinting, but I’m looking forward to the daily dash to the mailbox to see if we have it)
We should have our fingerprinting appointment sometime soon, I’ll make sure to let everyone know when that is so we can all start the anticipation for the I-171H form. After that its waiting list time! Yay! Thank you to everyone for being so supportive and going on this journey with us, it’s nice to see everyone so excited when I get another piece of paperwork even if they don’t know what it all means.
By the way, can you believe I’m so excited to spend about $6,000 in paperwork fees? ;-)
So as for everyday life, we had an insanely hectic weekend. In 3 days we went to Mark’s High School Reunion in G.R., went to our good friend Bill’s cottage near Ann Arbor, then went to my niece Samantha’s first birthday party in Detroit. It was insanely busy, but fun. This coming weekend it is up north for another wedding. Here are some of my favorite pics from this weekend:
