Hello everyone! I apologize that it's been a few weeks since my last update. We've been very busy trying to make the best out of every last minute of summer that we have, obviously.
I do have updates on both our little life and the adoption, so I'll try to get it all in here in one big picture-filled post!
First off, many of you will probably be pleased to know that we finally took Eli to the zoo. Some of you may know that I have a little trouble with the idea of the zoo. I just don't really feel right about animals being caged in that environment instead of in their natural habitat. It just kinda feels wrong to me to have them "on display" so-to-speak. However, I realize many of those animals need to be in that environment due to injuries and such, and I have to keep in mind that my son is currently obsessed with all things associated with animal life right now, so I just shut my mouth about my zoo-hating. Eli loved it.

A few days after that, we took our first real resort vacation together as a family. It was an absolute BLAST. We went to Wyndham Wilderness Adventure in Tennessee for a long weekend and it was just absolutely awesome. And props to Eli for dealing with 20 hours in the car like a champ! Here are a few pics from that:
And then we returned home to the busy-ness that fall begins to bring. I am gearing up to head out into high schools for work for the next few months, so I'm very excited for that transition. Eli is busy in his 2's class at daycare and overall he is just a very happy, easy-going kid. I also think we are finally nearing the end of the potty training stuff! (We had a few hiccups along the way) So I will be welcoming this little window of time we have without needing to buy diapers!
And lastly, we have some exciting paperwork news! (Well, it's exciting for us, I don't know how much it is for everyone else, haha)
Yesterday we sent out all of this paperwork for our I-600A orphan approval with our homestudy and supporting documents, so we are now waiting for our fingerprinting appointment notification! For all of you that don't know what all this means, it just means the paperwork finish line is finally in our sight. I'm hopeful that in just about 4-6 weeks everything will be processed and out of our hands. Then, we can sit back and relax because we will be officially waiting for referral!!
Well, I think that's about all the major updates on our little world for right now! If you can, please continue to pray for this adoption and for the health and safety of our future baby and birth family.
