Moolah!

Today we paid our first set of fees for our 2nd adoption process. So, it's a big day.

Normally, I try not to talk about the cost of adoption too much, mostly because I hate that so many people use it as the excuse reason they aren't able to adopt. Money and adoption are a hard topic for a number of different reasons and I try to not offend people on here as much as possible. (Key word today is: "try")

However, I'm going to talk about it a little bit today. Reason is that it's always been my goal to be open and honest on this blog, and I'm just very excited that we've made the first financial step in this process. The first payment is about $3,000, and by the time we are done with this process we will probably make seven or eight more payments just like it. And although we will have many other payments, this specific transaction is the most important one for me. I see it kinda like when I say I'm going to run another marathon. I can say I'm gonna do it all day long, but I am not invested completely in my training until I bust out my wallet and pay the race fee. So, making this first very large payment to our agency to me means we aren't just saying we are adopting again, we are committing to doing the work to get there, and we are going to follow through.

It's a good day.
