So I noticed little Eli has been kinda "left out" of the last few posts, so I decided it was about time for some photos of our lil' sweetheart. And he truly is just that, a tremendously sweet little boy. I've told you in the past about how the Ethiopian people seem to almost know a secret about how to love others that I believe we American's can't comprehend. And it seems like my Eli knows that secret right now. He is always giving hugs and kisses and just genuinely is just a sweet little boy. I do hope he finds a way to keep that secret all his life.
He is not talking as much as I'd like, he's still kinda limited to "Mama" and "Dada" and a few other random words that he makes up. However, he comprehends so much of what we say that I am not worried about it. He follows directions and is a fantastic listener, so I figure the lack of pronunciation is likely due to the fact that for the first 5 months of his life people were talking in a completely different language, so I'm fine with it right now. He tries to repeat me every now and again too which I also believe is a good sign.

You should see what a little ham he is, he thinks pretty much everything is hilarious. Especially when he terrorizes Louie chasing him around the house and stealing his dog toys, that's really funny apparantly. Poor Poor Louie. (This is happening literally right as a type this out... but even after everything that child does to him, you can still sometimes catch Lou sneaking in a way to give Eli a kiss, so cute!)
So, that's what our Eli is up to! Now, for a major change of subject....
Just a quick update on my last post regarding the current adoption crisis in Ethiopia. (If you haven't read it and want to be filled in, just scroll down to my last post) I did go on and sign the petition and I also sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia showing my opposition to the recent decision by MOWA. I do hope you will do the same, everyone can sign it, you don't just have to be an adoptive parent. Millions of orphans now depend on us to force change within the Ethiopian adoption system, I believe this situation will force the government to take action against those few sick people that are trying to corrupt a system that so many children rely on for a permanent family. And as our case worker pointed out to me last night, for those of you who are Christ followers, please remember that God commands us to care for the orphans very clearly in James 1:27. So, see this as an easy way for you to care for the millions of orphans that are now at risk of never having permanent families. To sign, click here.
