Can you believe this is the same little boy?
The day we saw this beautiful little boy for the first time was 1-year ago today. It's amazing to me that it has already been a year since that day. Read this again if you want to go back and relive the memory with us. :-) It was such a beautiful, beautiful day.
We have been home from Ethiopia and officially a family for just 9 months, but I honestly can tell you it's hard to even remember what life was like before this sweet little boy's picture entered our universe. I just think back to everything that happened leading up to that day and what's happened since then, and I really feel like I want to cry with gratitude for the blessing of this little boy. So much more I could say, but I will save that for Eli someday.
To top it off, he's famous now! Our agency is now featuring him in some of the mailings they send out to potential adoptive families. Here's some shots of the material:
And speaking of our agency, I am very excited/honored to have been selected to serve on a board for their annual fund raising gala. I'll blog about the details of the event later, but I just wanted to say that I am so honored they thought of me and I look forward to working with them more closely on this project. I have a lot of respect for our agency, so it makes me excited to partner with them on this. Not only did our entire adoption process go very smoothly thanks to our case workers, but even now, we still are using their services. Mark and I are currently attending a series of free, post-adoption educational classes there. It really is nice to have an agency that continually works with us on our adoption process even after the formal part of it is over.
And lastly, I just want to say thank you again to all of our friends and family who prayed and supported us through this journey in the last 2 years, it's been amazing. We love and appreciate it very much.
