I thought in honor of the fact that March is our referral-versary, I would give the blog an update. Notice some changes - the title is now "Post-It Notes". Here's the explanation: when I worked in the news biz, I had the nick name "Post-It" I don't quite recall what it was that started it, but it stuck in my little news world, but then when I decided to leave that industry, no one really called me that anymore. :-( So in honor of it, this will now be the title of the blog. The URL will always be "follow us to ethiopia" but really, you aren't following us there anymore, so it didn't really make sense anymore, ya know? I thought for awhile about starting a new blog, but honestly I don't want to have to manage the content of 2 blogs, so just as life continually changes, so will the blog.
Also - I like that there is a section on the left now that shows what our most popular posts. So check it out!
So what else has been going on? Well, we celebrated this guy turning the big 3-0!
We didn't do a huge party, I just surprised him with some close friends for the weekend at one of our favorite bed and breakfast places in St. Joe, Michigan. It was an awesome kid-free weekend full of great friends and lots of laughs. Truly a weekend to remember. Thank you to all of you who were a part of it, it was truly something Mark and I will never forget.
Mark also returned from Haiti last week and then went right off to Northern Michigan for a business trip for a few more days. For those who want to see more about the work he did in Haiti, here's a clip:
He's amazing, not only for being an awesome man of God and provider for our family, but for being a guy who knows when it's time to work very hard when he's needed. I'm so glad we were able to celebrate his birthday this weekend with our friends, he truly deserved the relaxing weekend after all he's been busy doing.
Other than that, Eli and I have been enjoying our extra "1-on-1" time together. He's been such a little angel-boy since Mark has been gone, I am so blessed.
