"So, when do you think you'll get her?"

Seriously. If I had $1 every time I heard that question I would be rolling in money! Of course I am not mad if you are someone who has asked me this, I just think it is getting pretty funny now how I can predict exactly when someone will ask this question. It's probably a lot like being pregnant when people ask, "So, when are you due?" as well as, "Do you know what your having?"

The good news is that we heard from USCIS this week and they are reviewing our case! They have asked us for some additional information, like Zoe's birth certificate and our Power of Attorney. These items are on their way to them and we are hoping this pushes things toward approval a bit faster. I am still very hopeful we will travel at some point in December, but I think January may become our reality.

The second unknown right now is if we will take 1 or 2 trips to Ethiopia. We are hearing that some people involved in this new, super great (insert sarcasm) paperwork process are being told they will only have to go to Ethiopia once. I have not been told that yet and no one is far enough in the process that I can base anything off of their experiences. I REALLY hope only one trip does become the case though. Not only would it save time and money in this process, but more importantly it would get our Zoe-girl home to us a little bit sooner.

In other updates, life is getting (slightly) more normal around here. I started my new job last Monday and I am in L-O-V-E with it! I work when I want and where I want... In my PJ's or at the office, I can do as I please. It is FABULOUS. I also have Eli at home with me now on Monday's and Friday's and it is SUPER FUN! We have a great time together. I really think I am experiencing the best of "both worlds" with being a full-time working mom who also gets to spend time at home as well. I don't know how I was blessed enough to snag this gig, but I am praising God each day that I did!

We are also moving next week! I am super excited to get into our super adorable new house and get Eli settled in and adjusted before Zoe comes home. I think we will have just enough time to get things at a state of "normal" before she arrives and shakes things up again. :-)

(Sidenote: People are definitely letting me that we are really crazy for moving right now. And believe me, I am very aware that the timing of this is awful. So, I'm trying to just find some humor in it. But, when someone basically knocks on your door when your house is not for sale, offers you a ton more money than what you paid for it just over 2 years ago, not to mention that you have been VERY annoyed  that you bought a house that is simply too big and a major pain for you to clean. (Do you know it's almost 4,000 square feet? What were we thinking?!) Here's what you do when that happens: You seize the opportunity, take the money and RUN to a new (smaller) house, in a neighborhood with a ton more young kids and a pool. Then, you use the extra money to pay off student debt and save for your kids' college so they don't end up with the same student debt you did. The end.)

So, that's about everything going on over here in our little universe. I hope you and yours are gearing up for a great holiday season! I don't know about you, but I am going to welcome 2014 with open arms!!!!

Until next time...

P.S. Sorry no pics with this post, I'll be better next time. Blogs suck without photos.
