Post It Notes: Dear Eli,

Because we have all been together now for over a year. (SO HAPPY to be finally saying that!) I thought I would write you a lil' letter so you know what I love about you at 18 months.

I love that you giggle and put your hands over your mouth when you do it. It reminds me of how genuine childhood laughter is.

I love that you say "bye bye" to everything, including tv shows when we turn them off and especially when you make sure to wave to Louie when we leave the house.

I love that you enjoy learning sign language so much. And that you were actually the one to teach me the sign for "help". It makes me excited to teach you more in the future.

I love that at night you still sit on my lap and let me pray with you and sing a lullaby. I know those moments may end very soon, so I love every second of it that I have now.

I love the way you get so excited when "DaDa" comes home. It's truly a blessing to watch your eyes light up for his arrival.

I love how big your smile is when I come through the door at the end of a daycare day.

And most of all, I just love you. Forever and always.

Important Words To Remember:

*Dossier* The set of documents that we send to Ethiopia to be put on the waiting list.

*Referral* The photo and information on our child that we will receive several months after we've been on the waiting list. This is when we find out who our little one is!

*Court date* After we receive our referral, a court date will be set up about 6 weeks later. We will travel to Ethiopia for this hearing.

*First Trip* The trip both of us will take to attend the court hearing and meet our child.

*Second Trip* The second trip when one of us will travel to pick up the child from Ethiopia and bring them home!

"Why?"

Answer: Mark and I don't really know, we believe there is a reason God put it on our hearts to adopt first rather than trying to have biological children. This does not mean we will never try for a biological child, it's just not where we are being led to build our family right now. We ask that you please respect our decision and join us in celebrating our amazing family!
