Eli - 9 Months

I cannot believe Bruisey (that's the nickname that has "stuck") has been with us for 4 months! What an absolute joy he is to our lives. Seriously, I cannot say enough how in love we are with this little boy, it's pretty much beyond words. At night, when I rock him to sleep I just hold him so tight and thank the Lord for putting this, "crazy adoption idea" on our hearts, because I know with every bone in my body that this little boy was meant to be our son.

So, what is Eli doing this month? What is he not doing should be the question!

- He's a SPEED DEMON! His crawling is seriously so fast, he can be across our entire main floor in prolly less than 10 seconds.

- He's walking a little bit along our furniture. He pulls himself to standing on seamingly EVERYTHING. He can also stand on his own without support for about 5 seconds.

- He's able to feed himself. (This is great for me, then I can grab 5 minutes so I can eat myself while he munches on something) He's also eating most of the food we eat as long as it is soft.

- He can say "Momma" but it is very rare and he doesn't even realize he's saying it yet. "DaDa" is still the word of choice, but he knows what it means now.

- He HATES the word "No", but he's learning it though. ;-)

- There is site of the first tooth popping through! We just noticed this today so it's pretty big news around here. Haha.

Other than that, on a bit more serious note, I am asking for prayer right now because I am feeling very convicted to find an area of our lives where we can incorporate more diversity into our world. I feel it is very important for Eli to have more culture than we are currently providing in our West Michigan lifestyle, so if I may, I'm asking that you pray that we are lead to something that can allow us to be more culturally diverse.

Also - Eli is going to be a lion for Halloween! Little boys and Fall make me smile.

God Bless,
