Post It Notes: I heart Fall

So, much to my surprise this morning, Mark wakes me up and says to me, "It's 7:45 love, I decided I'm going to take the day off" (First of all, the fact that it was that late and I hadn't even heard a peep out of Eli was fabulous, not to mention I had my husband home with me, on a Monday! Yay!!)

I was so excited, because I have been thinking about taking our lil E-man to pick out his fall pumpkin for a few days now and today was the most beautiful early fall day in West Michigan. The sun was shining, it was a nice 67 degrees outside. Today was very special for me because at this time last year I was seeing pictures of my friends and their children in pumpkin patches, and at that time we were practically just starting our long wait for our referral. This year is so very wonderfully different. I love being able to witness the joy of our little boy seeing things for the very first time, and seeing it with my wonderful husband. It was truly a great day. I hope you enjoy my little snapshot of it.

Important Words To Remember:

*Dossier* The set of documents that we send to Ethiopia to be put on the waiting list.

*Referral* The photo and information on our child that we will receive several months after we've been on the waiting list. This is when we find out who our little one is!

*Court date* After we receive our referral, a court date will be set up about 6 weeks later. We will travel to Ethiopia for this hearing.

*First Trip* The trip both of us will take to attend the court hearing and meet our child.

*Second Trip* The second trip when one of us will travel to pick up the child from Ethiopia and bring them home!

"Why?"

Answer: Mark and I don't really know, we believe there is a reason God put it on our hearts to adopt first rather than trying to have biological children. This does not mean we will never try for a biological child, it's just not where we are being led to build our family right now. We ask that you please respect our decision and join us in celebrating our amazing family!
