Clearly this persons photography skills are not the best since they are SO CLOSE, but nonetheless I get to see every little detail of his face! He is so gorgeous. Still very bald, but gorgeous. Oh my how I want to just pick him up and kiss those cheeks! AHHHHHHHHH. I want to go to Ethiopia NOW. We also got measurements last week. At 18 weeks he's 15lbs and is 27'' long. These measurements aren't always 100% accurate, but if so, we have one TALL little boy!
Also, here's the latest update on travel. We are waiting on our final confirmation that we will leave for Ethiopia on July 8th and return to Grand Rapids on July 17th. We should know this for sure within the next couple of days. (That means we will book plane tickets!) I'm also very excited that we may travel with 4 other families! If we had gone on our previous travel dates of June 10th-18th, we would have traveled alone. So, this will ensure we have company with us. :-)
Lastly, I wanted to point out a new area of the blog. I have created an area for adult adoptee blogs that I would like to be able to keep up with. So, I have added another blog role under the other ones that I "stalk". Many times in our society, once an adopted child grows up and becomes an adult their voices are no longer heard if they happen to be struggling with the sometimes very painful realities of their adoption. So, if you are an adult adoptee that reads this blog and you would be willing to allow me to follow your journey, please email me your blog link and let me know. I find the stories from adult adoptees really help me better prepare myself for the challenges that we may face as an adoptive family. I only have 1 on there now, the author of this book, which our agency is recommending right now to families like ours. So all you other adoptive families out there, check it out, I bought my copy today.
So, that's it for now! Please continue to pray that Eli stays healthy and happy while we deal with these last few weeks of "the wait".
