So I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks. Why? Because we have nothing to talk about. Doesn't that stink? We've been busy having fun with friends, vacationing and with work, but I don't have much adoption-related stuff to talk about so I'm kinda in a blogging-funk.We were fingerprinted last Saturday, and now we are waiting to get our I171-H form from the US Immigration Office. This is our last piece of paperwork we need to receive before we can get on the waiting list. Everything else that needs to be sent is done. So, for now, all we can do is wait for it. Our agency says lately it's been taking about 6 weeks for the document to arrive after filing the I-600A. We filed that on July 27th, so I'm hoping to have the I-171H around Labor Day.
Lots of people have been asking lately, "So sounds like things are going well, how much longer now?" I really wish I had a more concrete answer for them, but I don't. All I can say is that it's possible that we will be home from Africa by July of 2010. However, there are no guarentees for that, it's just my hope based on our agencies timelines. We are already over 4 months into the process though, and every day that passes brings us one step closer to our little one!
